Church of the Master offers a variety of Bible study and fellowship groups in order to help you become a transformed disciple of Jesus Christ. Are you thinking about membership at Church of the Master but want to know more before committing to the 4-week New Member classes? If so, join Pastor Anna and Pastor Jennifer for food,

fellowship, and to answer any questions you may have about Church of the Master. Children are welcome! Please note this luncheon is optional and not a requirement for membership.

Supper Clubs

Does connecting with others through good food and good conversation sound like your idea of a fun evening? If so, then a Supper Club is just for you! Supper Clubs are made up of 8-10 people who meet monthly to dine and share in fellowship together. There are no other requirements to joining. Supper Clubs are assigned randomly in order to create opportunities to meet new people and build relationships throughout the congregation.

Thursday Evening Study and Conversation

You are invited to Bible study and conversation every Thursday evening. Come for supper and stay for study and conversation. This study is a come as you can, there is no long-term commitment required. It is ideal for budding and seasoned study participants alike. There will be little to no pre-reading required for the conversations. No pre-registration required, simply show up.

Supper begins at 6 p.m. with conversation starting at 6:30 p.m. Conversation and Study will follow the M&M calendar.

 

Sermon Starters Bible Study

Join the preacher each Wednesday for an hour of casual conversation and Bible study over the scripture passage for the following Sunday. If you have a favorite Bible, bring it along, however the preacher will have copies of the scripture lesson. This study is come as you can, so come for one week or come for every week. No pre-registration required, simply show up.

Class meets Wednesdays at 11 a.m. in the Wagoner-Hursh room.

 

Pastor’s Sunday School

Join Pastor Jennifer as we prayerfully explore the Holy Scriptures. Participants are encouraged to make connections between the lives of the biblical characters and their own lives in order to discern what God may be calling us to now. No need to pre-register, simply show up with your Bible and a desire to draw closer to God and to one another.

Class meets Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in Balcony Room 20.

 

Seeker’s Sunday School 

Do you seek out a variety of tools for your spiritual formation? If so, then the Seeker’s Sunday school class may be for you. This group utilizes a variety of methods for engaging in transformative spiritual exploration. You can expect traditional Bible studies as well as studying theologians and spiritual leaders. This class promotes a shared leadership model with participants taking turns leading the class discussion. No pre-registration required, simply show up.

Class meets Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in the Wagoner-Hursh room.

 

Connections Sunday School  

Searching for a group that focuses on a comprehensive understanding of Scripture? Holy Scripture is central to the spiritual formation of the Connections participants.  Class model is structured so that members are encouraged to connect to God, to the Word, and to others. No pre-registration required, simply show up with your Bible on Sunday mornings.

Class meets Sundays at 9:30 am in the Chapel.

 

Jesus: A Pilgrimage

This study will take participants on a virtual pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Fr. James Martin’s book Jesus: A Pilgrimage will be our guide. This   25-week conversation based study is part Bible study, part book study, and part spiritual exploration. This casual study is ideal for budding and seasoned Bible study participants alike. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Soul Healing

If you have ever suffered trauma in your life, struggled with depression, fear, destructive habits or addictions, or are just longing for a deeper relationship with God through Jesus Christ, this class is for you. Soul Healing: Living Beyond the Pain of Your Past by Dr. Tammy Smith will be the foundation for this 10-week course. Pre-registration required.

Covenant Bible Study

Have you been yearning for a deep Bible study which connects the ancient Word to our contemporary lives? If so, then Covenant is the formational group for you. Participants will spend 24-weeks on a sweeping survey of the entire Bible. Daily scripture reading and reflection will guide the study throughout the year. Pre-registration is required.
