Adult Ministry

If you are not presently attending one of the adult classes described below, you are cordially invited and encouraged to visit several classes to discover in which one you might experience an opportunity for special fellowship and increased understanding of Christian community.

Agape Class

Wagoner Hursh Room

Teacher: Dr. William Amy

Adults of all ages are invited to be a part of this class. The class follows a format of lecture and discussion to engage class members in dealing with issues relating to the understanding and practice of their faith. Sharing individual experiences is an important part of the class discussion. Topics range in content including Bible Study, social and moral issues, and other world religions. Some opportunities for fellowship beyond the class session are also planned.

Crusaders Class

Room 20 (Upper Level)

Teacher: Rev. Ted Maust

The Crusaders Class meets on the second floor, directly above the Pastor's Study. The class is made up of a variety of ages. We are both couples and singles. We use the United Methodist Adult Study Bible (International Lesson Series) as the principle curriculum. We plan several social events each year.

In addition, we plan fund raising and give support to social concerns such as Habitat for Humanity, NNEMAP Pantry and New Life. We are sponsoring an Indonesian child through the Christian Children's Fund. We are a friendly group and new members are also welcome!

Fidelis Class

East Fellowship Hall (Lower Level - nearest kitchen)

Teacher: John Wells

The Fidelis Class studies and discusses a wide range of topics. Social issues, theological positions, and books of the Bible often provide a time for investigation. The class is composed of a wide range of backgrounds, so the discussion can be lively. Now and then members of the class will share their "faith journey." Religious leaders and theologians are also studied. Books by Borg, Spong, Armstrong and Crossan and others lead to opportunities for spiritual growth. All age groups are welcome.

The Class in the Pastor's Office

Pastor's Office

Leader: Larry Gabel

The Sunday School class meeting in the pastor's office is currently studying the book, Jesus: Seeing Him More Clearly, by Bill Hybels (with Kevin and Sherry Harney). All are welcome to join in this lively dialog currently led by Larry Gabel.
