As they celebrate 100 years of Scouting in America this year, Scout Troop and Pack 471 wish to express the twelfth point of the Scout Law: A Scout is Reverent. Join us March 14 as we reflect on how the values of Scouting correlate to the teachings of the Bible. We encourage all current and former Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and leaders to show their Scouting Spirit by attending this special service. Our Scouts will perform ushering duties, a flag ceremony, and the Children’s Moment Message for both our contemporary and traditional services. In addition, Scouting memorabilia, photos, and information will be on display. A special dedication will be held to honor Church of the Master’s Troop 39 for its 95 years of service to the youth of Central Ohio.

The Health Ministry Cabinet and Stephen Ministry are joining together to sponsor a delicious lasagna lunch followed by a presentation on Advance Directives. Documenting your wishes today means your family won’t have to make heart-wrenching decisions later. This is a difficult area for all of us to think about, but it is important to make your wishes known to your loved ones. You are not going to be asked to make any decisions during the presentation. Our goal is to inform you of your options and give you tools for discussion with your families. We will provide babysitting. Share a bit of the Old Irish and join your friends at Church of the Master for a Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner. We’ll serve wonderful dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, dinner rolls, and dessert so you can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and support the 2010 Youth Work Camps to Cleveland (Jr High) and Michigan City (High School). Cost of the tickets are $8 for adults $5 for children 2-10. Children under 2 eat free. Tickets will be on sale in the gathering space on Sunday mornings beginning February 27- March 14. As part of their annual Historic America Tour series, Troop 471 is heading to the city of New York in June. There they will visit such sites as Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty and the site of the former World Trade Center towers. The troop will be holding a pancake breakfast on March 20 to help fund their tour. All-you-can-eat pancakes for just $5 per person (includes a serving of sausage).
