Church of the Master United Methodist is a Calling Congregation

Church seeks one area high school student and one college student for a year-long internship beginning April 1, 2012 and ending March 31, 2013.

  

WESTERVILLE, OHIO  – Church of the Master (COM) in conjunction with the Fund for Theological Education is seeking two interns to explore a vocational call to ministry in the coming year.

Interns will have the opportunity to observe and/or participate in a variety of ministerial areas not limited to but including: worship, Adult Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Day Camp, missions, shadowing, visitation, small groups, outreach, and church governance.  

Interns will work closely with the church’s Director of Next Generation Ministries and will be mentored by individuals on the church’s Intern Support Team. Interns will have opportunities to explore their Christianity identity, and to discern a call to ministry as a vocation. As a culminating experience in March 2012, interns will be expected to articulate their understanding of their respective calls to ministry in a way that becomes a testimony and witness to be shared within the corporate life at COM.

The high school internship requires a commitment of approximately 4-8 hours per week, including Sunday worship times and will receive an annual stipend of $1000.  The college internship requires a commitment of approximately 10-12 hours per week, including Sunday worship times and will receive an annual stipend of $2000. Application deadline is February 14, 2012. Interviews will be conducted on Sunday, February 26, 2012, from 1:30pm -5:30pm. Applicants will be notified of decisions by March 1, 2012.

Church of the Master United Methodist at Otterbein University is regionally and nationally renowned for its education, mission and music programs and is a church within the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. Sunday worship times are 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
