Safe Sanctuary
On behalf of the Church of the Master Staff, thank you for answering the call to be a volunteer with our Children, Youth, or Older/Vulnerable Adult programming. We could not meet the spiritual needs of these ministry groups without volunteers like you! As you work through the training sessions, please reach out to your age level program staff if you have questions. We look forward to having you part of our age level ministry programs. We pray that you will find blessings as you give others the gifts of your time and talents on behalf of our Creator.
Volunteers
You will need to complete the following, as a volunteer:
1. Volunteer Application
2. Background Check: you will receive an email from Ministry Mobilizer requesting information and permission to complete a background check.
3. Safe Sanctuary Training: Your training is available by reading our Safe Sanctuary Policy PDF. When you are finished with the lesson, you can go "Quiz buttons" below. Completing the quizzes will let us know you have completed the required training video and reading.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the training only online?
No, you can be trained in person. The next training date is May 31, 2026 at 1:15pm in the church chapel.
How Long is SS training good for?
This training is good for 3 years. For instance, if you completed your training in (or before) 2023, you will need to renew your training in 2026.
How do I get a copy of the entire Safe Sanctuary Policy?
If you would like a full copy of the Church of the Master Safe Sanctuary Policy please click on the link below. If you would like a paper copy, please let our Office Administrator know and they will get you a copy.
How long is my background check good for?
These are good for 3 years (this number fluctuates based on the UMC's policies) We will notify you if your check expires. (this is no cost to you)
